ブドウが低く仕立てられる理由です。まずは強い風から守るためが、第一の理由です。余裕があったり、配点が高い場合は、熱についても書くと良いと思います。
- Explain why vines are often bush-trained in the Southern Rhone.
- Southern Rhone is warm, dry, sunny region. It has strong sunlight. Bush vine create extra shade to protect the berries from the sunburn that produce bitter flavor in the skins.
- The extra shade can cause a lack of airflow. It may promote diseases. However, the risk of fungal disease is low in this region.
- Look at the wine below and describe the style of the wine.
The wine is full bodied, richly textured with concentrated spiced red fruit flavors that balance with the high alcohol.

- State and describe three reasons why Grenache is well suited in the Southern Rhone.
- Grenache is late ripening and needs to be planted in warm / hot climate. Therefore it ripens well in the summer of the Mediterranean climate in the Southern Rhone.
- The soils are often Galets (stones) that absorb the heat and raise the temperature. Grenache can ripen well in this condition.
- Grenache is tolerant of drought that is a common problem in the Southern Rhone.
