Austriaの練習問題②（英語版）です。WSETは試験問題の情報が少なく、過去問もないので、試験対策に苦労します。こちらは、あくまでも自分の勉強のために個人的に作成した問題ですので、必ずしも正確性を保証するものではありませんが、記述問題の参考になれば幸いです。

What is the grape variety of Weinviertel DAC?

It provides humid misty mornings followed by sunny dry afternoon.

What is Strohwein?

Answer

The wine made from bunches of grapes laid out on beds of straw or reeds during the winter to concentrate sugar level.
No noble rot.

What does the wine labeled Klassik taste like?

Answer

The wine is light body with high acidity. It has fresh and fruity flavor. Simple. The aromas are of stone fruit, citrus and white pepper. Usually used inert vessels. Therefore rarely have oaky flavor.

What conditions in the vineyard account for full-bodied and concentrated wine in Wachau?

Answer

Wachau is cool continental climate. To produce full bodied and concentrated wine grapes have to be ripen fully. The vines are grown on steep slope and south-facing aspect. That maximizes the sunlight for grapes. So grapes can ripen fully. That concentrates flavors and increase sugar levels. It’s also close to rivers (Danube). Reflection of sunlight and warm air from river raise the temperature of vineyard and help photosynthesis.

South-facing slopeもProximity of riverも、日照量を上げる効果と、霜のリスクを下げる効果があります。この問題では、フルボディなワインを作る条件なので、霜の事を書いても得点には繋がらないと思います。聞かれてる事以外を書いても点数はマイナスにはなりませんが、時間はもったいないです。
